Every few years, you’re going to have to stop by your Chevrolet GMC dealer to get some new tires for your car. This is because your tire tread wears down as you drive, and old tires can also weaken and start to crack or bulge. There are lots of ways to tell when it’s time to replace your tires, and there are also a few ways to prolong their lifespan.

When the Tread Gets Too Low
Your tires must have at least 1/16 of an inch of tread to be considered road-safe. Regularly check your tread depth with a tread depth gauge or a penny. A tread depth gauge provides a specific measurement, but a penny works just fine if you can’t get your hands on a gauge when you need one.
