The Silverado has always had a reputation for being one of the most rugged and reliable work trucks on the planet, and the all-new 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 lives up to that reputation. The new Silverado has everything you need to get the job done, but it also boasts a number of exciting features that you might not expect to find in a pickup. This article will go over five of the most impressive features of the 2022 Silverado 1500.

1. 13.4-Inch Diagonal Infotainment System with Touchscreen Display

The new Silverado 1500 features one of the largest infotainment touchscreen displays in its class this year. The 13.4-inch center console display allows drivers and front passengers to access a number of onboard systems, including the navigation system, music and media, diagnostic information, climate control system, and much more.

2. Automatic Emergency Braking with Front Pedestrian Detection

One of the most advanced safety features available in any vehicle this year is Chevy’s automatic emergency braking system which can autonomously engage the brakes in the event of an emergency to avoid a collision or to mitigate the damage if the collision is unavoidable. This year, the system also includes front pedestrian detection, which can, in certain situations, also apply the brakes automatically if a pedestrian steps out in front of the vehicle.

3. Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning

The lane keep assist system was designed to help prevent one of the most common accidents, which occurs when drivers become tired and begin accidentally drifting out of their lane. The system uses built-in cameras which can identify road marking and will notify drivers if it detects that they’ve been drifting. Plus, the system can also help drivers steer so that they can remain centered in their correct lane.

4. Forward Collision Alert System

Another great safety system in this year’s Silverado 1500 is the forward collision alert system, which scans the road ahead and can identify potential upcoming accidents. If the system detects a possible oncoming collision, it will audibly notify the driver so that evasive actions can be taken to avoid the crash from occurring.

5. Available Super Cruise

Adaptive cruise control systems are becoming more common in modern vehicles, but Chevy’s available super cruise system is by far the best of them. The system can not only autonomously control the Silverados speed, but super cruise does something that most other adaptive cruise control systems can only dream of. With super cruise, the new Silverado 1500 can also automatically control steering on over 200,000 miles of compatible roads in the U.S. and Canada.

With all of the high-performance work systems and the impressive lineup of advanced tech and safety features, it’s safe to say that the new Silverado 1500 is a serious contender for best-in-class pickup this year.
