2021 GMC Yukon Driving Down a Road

Bigger is better; this is the philosophy that guided the redesign of the 2021 GMC Yukon. The roomy, three-row SUV is now six inches longer to provide more legroom and cargo space. Before you head to the local dealership, read on for a breakdown of this exciting SUV.

The 2021 Redesign

The fifth-generation GMC Yukon receives a complete redesign to give it a more muscular look, more storage, and a comfier ride. A new compact independent rear allows for a lower floor, giving more room for third-row passengers while boosting comfort levels.

The addition of a torque-rich 3.0-liter turbo-diesel inline-six engine provides more configuration options for your SUV. All models also get a new 10-speed automatic transmission for a peppy ride. The new AT4 off-roading trim level suits drivers yearning for adventure with enhanced off-roading features and equipment.

Engine Options

The base GMC Yukon engine is a 5.3-liter V8 engine making 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. The 6.2-liter V8 engine in the Denali trim gets a class-leading 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. An optional Duramax 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine makes 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.

Trim Levels

SLE Trim

The base SLE trim starting at $50,700 has an impressive range of features from a 10.2-inch touch screen, tri-zone automatic climate control, remote start, to wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and more.

SLT Trim

An upgrade to the SLT trim starting at $59,095 adds more upscale features. They include leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, blind-spot monitoring, and an available SLT Luxury package.

AT4 Trim

The new Yukon AT4 with a starting price of $64,800 comes equipped for off-roading with features such as standard four-wheel drive, skid plates, adaptive suspension dampers, heavy-duty air filter, and hill descent control. The AT4 model also features premium features such as heated second-row seats, heated steering wheel, and power-folding third-row seats.

Denali

The range-topping Denali trim starting at $68,400 boasts an upgraded interior, a surround-view parking camera system, and a 14-speaker Bose audio system. There are exclusive optional Denali styling/performance packages such as the Denali Deluxe package, Premium package, and Advanced Technology package.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

The GMC Yukon can seat up to eight passengers or seven with second-row captain’s chairs. There’s an array of standard interior features including a large touchscreen, keyless entry and ignition, and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility. An upgrade to the upper trims and premium packages gets you more luxurious features such as heated and ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, Bose audio system, wireless charging, surround-view camera system, a panoramic sunroof, navigation system, and a rear-seat entertainment system.

The extended wheelbase increases available interior space for enhanced comfort and cargo-carrying capacity. Behind the third-row seats, you have 25.5 cubic feet of space, which expands to 72.6 cubic feet with these seats folded down. Folding both the 2nd and 3rd-row seats gives you 122.9 cubic feet of cargo space.

Safety Features and Technology
